Dress Code

At registration, you will receive a sheet outlining your specific shoe and apparel needs for your student. All students must be properly dressed for dance and ready when class begins. Proper attire consists of leotards, any style or any color, and corresponding dance shoes (i.e., pink ballet slippers, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes). Tights are optional for all classes except Ballet. Children should wear pink tights and black leotards for ballet classes. For acrobatics and contortion classes, children should be barefoot, no socks or tights covering the feet, please be certain your child’s hair is secured tightly in an elastic and pulled back from her face for safety. For all OTHER classes, hair must be pulled back away from face in a bun or ponytail. Sweat clothes are fine to wear for the warm-up period, but must be removed after the first ten minutes of class. After the first week of class, children are expected to have proper attire. If not, your child may not be able to participate in class. Boys’ attire should consist of sweat or gym shorts and t-shirts. Please consult with your child’s teacher about specific shoe styles and/or colors. We recommend “Posh Pirouettes” in Crofton, Maryland, conveniently located on Route 301/3 for all your dancing needs. Our own Ms. Carrie Smith and Ms. Jackie LoRe can help you with all your dancewear needs. (410)721-0040. Please be sure to tell them you dance at C&C for our special discount! Please be sure to put your child’s name in every shoe and all dance apparel in case they are lost or left behind.
